It is irelevant if the person went back to work or not. What you are looking to do is to show the ONSET of the illenss. IE Ralph's onset was in September 05- the first day he had pancreatitis and was admitted. He came out of hospital, then had gallbladder surgery- was out of work three days- then went back. HJe worked from mid sept until Nov 20-th when he was readmitted for pancreatitis. He went back to work when he was discharged and worked right up until his day of surgery Janu 26 2005. We certified him and counted beginning September. All the hospital admissions, Dr's appointments were unsuccessful attempts to work. Ralph became eligible for SS in April. I applied for him in April and within 3 weeks I had it.

Be able to prove and back up everything including the diagnosis- but be sure to push for the ONSET of the illness- not from the point of diagnosis.
