Patient is 56 year old Male. Diagnosed June 15, 2006 with a fast growing
cancer, Stage IV. 5x5cm tumor in the pancreas, metastised to the liver. 2
tumors there each 4x4cm. in 2 lymph nodes near the pancreas. Surgery is not
an option. He was very sick after the biopsy and didn't eat for 6 days, but
Reglan and Megace straightened up his stomach and he can eat most anything
now. He's also diabetic and has gone on insulin trying to control his sugar.
Started Chemo 3 weeks ago, once a week. Cistoplasty and Gemzar. Chemo sends
his sugar sky high for 2 days, but then it comes back down. He feels good and
has not got sick from the chemo. His only symptom is being tired after a
long days work, (aren't we all). I'm his 56 year old wife and caregiver. I
am seeing he eats right. He's taking vitamins and trying to keep his body
built up. He's probably lost about 30lbs. since April 1, but has been
holding his weight for the past month. He will have 3 more chemo
treatments and then another catscan.
