The fact that your mother was able to undergo a Whipple procedure speaks volumes for her possibility of long term survival. She is very fortunate that she was able to have the procedure, since by the time most PC is diagnosed, it is too late for surgical intervention like the Whipple. So if your oncologist is recommending chemotherapy and feels your mom is up to it, then I think you need to allow her to go through the treatments. You say she has a positive attitude, so that is half the battle right there. Good luck!
