Dennis, my wife is also in the position of having her doctors tell her there is nothing more to be done, and she has rejected a clinical trial because of the possible side-effects, her drastic weight loss, and the conviction that her quality of life right now isn't worth what she would go through with another round of chemo. Whether or not that's the "right" decision, we are still operating with hope for the future. She is sticking to a somewhat stringent diet and supplement regimen, staying as active as possible (given the limiting effect of fatigue) with family and friends, and planning future events. We are not accepting a "final stage" scenario at this time. If there's one thing I've learned from this board, it's that people do survive all sorts of dire predictions. Keep on hoping. With a prayer for you and your friend, james.
