Is the tumor more than 2 cm? In general, the successful surgeries are for tumors 2cm or less. Is he at a high volume cancer center? Make sure he is seeing an oncologist and/or surgeon who is fully versed in pancreatic cancer. Only a small percentage ( around 9%) of pc patients are eligible for the surgery. His chances will be that much greater for success if he has the surgery done at a major cancer center with a well known surgeon who has done many whipple surgeries. Good luck. Marj
