My mother died 3 weeks after being diagnosed with PC (metastatic -- spread to other organs). Her doctors did not know she had it until (they said) it was untreatable because she was too weak to withstand any treatment. So, we had hospice at home and she had pain medication and became weaker every day until she died. She did not have a feeding tube or IV hydration. Maybe she would have lasted longer if she had had them; or, maybe she would have been more uncomfortable and had more pain for a longer time. Everyone says be glad she didn't suffer. I would have wanted her around much longer. I miss her so much.
