I think it's so normal when the end is near to just want it to be over. I think that comes out of a deep love for the person who is sick. My dad is doing very poorly now; and I just want him to be free of his pain and suffering. This is so, so hard. Please go easy on yourself. I think it's wonderful that you are able to sit with your mom for a little bit. Please, do not feel guilty about having to be home with your children. It sounds as if your mom has good care and people who love her. You need to take care of yourself, first. Your kids really need you. Have you considered seeing someone to help you get through all of this. I've gone to a little bit of counceling. Some people even take anti-anxiety medication to help with the stress. Take care.
