On Sunday July 25,1999 my dad died from the complications of pancreatic cancer. It was less than 3 months from diagnosis. He went into Saint Barnabas Medical Center on July 9th for a peritoneal jugular shunt and it was done on Tuesday, July 13th. He went from the recovery room to ICU where he stayed 12 days on a respirator. The doctors said he went into pulmonary edema, pneumonia, had an MI, and finally he went into renal failure. He was heavily sedated on morphine the entire time he was in ICU. The Doctor who performed the surgery said the procedure was a success but he died from a complication from the procedure. My dad was the most wonderful man I knew. He was always there for us. He never had anything bad to say about anyone. He was someone who gave the word friend a real meaning. I can only remember happy thoughts because thats all there was. I will always love him and miss him dearly. There was no one like my father. I love you dad and I always will. Debbie
