News is not good, but not the end of the world either. Lots of survivors from Stage IV. Take a look at Randy Stein's web site www.thecancerstore.com. He was dx'd with Stage IV about 3 years ago. Melissa, a personal friend was given 1 -3 months over 2 years ago. I could go on & on but you get the drift. Very important to not look at statistics & ignore timetables given by doctors. They're just guessing & depressing people. Most important to find a great oncologist who has experience treating pancreatic cancer & start treating it aggressively at once. Prayer & hope are important too. I'm not talking about denial here; some people will make it & most won't, but you have to believe you're in the few who will beat the odds, otherwise you're as good as dead. Judi (next month will be 3 years since my dx)
