It's a very difficult decision. My dad (age 73) was diagnosed in March and he passed away July 18th. His choice was to stay at home. The nurse came by daily and also a nurse's aid came once a day to clean him and move him, but that was only at the end, when he could'nt get out of bed anymore. He went into hallucinations on the 16th that lasted until 15 minutes before he left us. My brothers and sisters and I had to take shifts to hold him down. It was a very difficult time for all of us having to see my father in so much pain. All I can tell you is that it doesn't end that way for everyone. Some just silently go to sleep. I pray that your dad will go peacefully. Whatever decision you make, do not feel guilty about. You will only be thinking of your mom and dad.
