Oh, and he is taking Prilosec every a.m. to reduce stomach acid. The explanation we had was that the enzymes have a hard time making it through the stomach and into the small intestine where they are needed most.

We also have had a bile vomit problem (perhaps because his pylorus and duodenum were both removed). It was worst first thing in the a.m. and after breakfast. He now takes 1/2 tablet sucralfate at bedtime and another 1/2 tablet on waking. Supposed to coat the stomach and prevent irritation by the bile that can back up into it (I think mostly when he is lying down for a while). Seems to have solved the problem. Any experience with this?
