Hi there elly,

Congrats on your whipple.

I usually post on the main board.

My husband Raul, 53 had the jaundice, high liver function and jaundice. Whipple 20 days after dx and had a 1.9 cm poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma of the distal common bile duct with pancreatitis. (About the size of a nickel). 3-16 nodes pos. for tumor.

Back in hospital one month post-op for abcess that almost killed him. Recovery 2 months and pushed it to go back to his crabbing business, and he did.

He went on 6 months of Gemar/Tarceva and then finished his last Tarceva pill yesterday. Bad arm rash and beginning neuropathy to the toes. Toxcicity buildup we think.

The surgeon said it was Pancreatic Cancer and the onc. saiys it's extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Raul says it was a tumor and they cut it out and it was clear margins so it's gone.

Stay strong, and hang in there. You are doing great.

Today is Raul's bithday. He's 54. Whipple anniversary for 1 yr. is March 8.
