I'm glad for all the children that spend the precious time left to really find how special their Father or Mother is. In our family, My husband has pacreatic cancer and his son who lives less that 100 miles away hasn't seen him in a yr. 4 mos. His son has never seen him as the wonderful man he is. Hes not the roll on the floor with the kids type grandpa, but is a loving man. Hes only compared to the talents and personality of his son's father-in-law. He has said all he ever wanted from his father if for him to be a grandfather to his children. But hes rarely brought them for us to see. It seems we just never measured up to his ideals. Thats okay tho, he has a loving daughter and 5 very loving stepchildren. We have been married 22 yrs. His first wife died of cancer 27 yrs ago. THE GOOD NEWS IS , my husband was diagnosed with pc , July of 97. He had surgery, the whipple wasn't an option for him. He had 38 treatments of radiation, followed by 6 mos. chemo. He was in remission for a year. Now it has spread to his liver. Hes had chemo for 4 mos now, and is doing pretty good. He doesn't feel good hardly ever, at least not like you and me. But its been 2 yrs. now and they didn't think he would make it a year. So you see, they really don't know. I believe my Fred will be among the 5 yr. survivors. Good luck to all of you. Don't give up. You probably have a lot of living left to do.
