My mom's situation is similar. After her abdominal surgery, she developed a blood clot the entire length of her femoral artery. They put a screen apparatus in her groin, then started anticoagulant therapy--first she was going to get lovenox injections, but at discaharge, they started her on Coumadin orally. This seems to be the treatment of choice. Is you dad getting daily or frequent bloodwork for clotting? I really didn't know that pc and chemo increased the chance of blood clots. I hope that your dad is atleast comfortable, and the injections work on the current clot. My thoughts are with you, Wendi
