As I said before, so sorry you are going thru this terrible time with your mom. We were fortunate in that 3 weeks before Ron died, he absolutely made up his mind to refuse all further treatments. I didn't want to give up and asked our onc what his chance of survival was, he said 5%. That was enough for both of us. If your mom is like Ron she will sleep away very peacefully. Ron knew all of us that afternoon and seemed to be in a deep peaceful sleep after 4:00 breathing regularly. About 7:00 his breathing became irregular for about 15 minutes, then he started shallow breathing until he just quietly slipped away from us. It was the hardest thing we as a family ever went thru but he was finally not suffering any more and he had done battle with this disease as long as he could. Wish I could be there to give you a hug but you know my prayers are with you.
