It is always sad to welcome yet another to this forum because undoubtedly your life and the life of your loved one is in turmoil almost beyond belief. The good news is that you will find solice here. Everyone approaches this disease dirrerently so of course you will have to choose wqhat is right for you, but please don't give up hope. Probably the best thing that happened to me in the early stages of my husband's diagnosis was when one of the professors here at UNLV walked into my office and told me that 5 years ago he was given 6 months to live with an inoperable brain tumor. HIs suggestion was to never give up hope and don't buy into the negative statistics. My husband, Richard and I have taken that to heart and are fighting this disease with a vengence. There is no such thing as false hope only no hope. Good luck in your battle. By the way my husband had Gemzar only for his first course of chemo then switched to a combo of Gemzar and 5fu and we have finally seen a reduction in tumor size. Also he was only given 4 to 8 months at the beginning of this journey. He is doing well, although he has lost a lot of weight he lives, loves, works, and plays...My prayers and good thoughts
