I clicked on your post because my dad was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The only difference is that my dad was diagnosed a week earlier and is 73 years old. His cancer is also in the liver which was biopsied to confirm the pancreatic cancer. Our journey began several months ago when Dad stopped eating and we watched our Dad literally shrink before our eyes. No appetite, back pain etc. After numerous doctor visits, tests, more doctors, etc. with my Mom asking each doctor could it be pancreatic cancer and being told no, let's rule this and that out...finally a CAT scan confirmed what my Mom and Dad had dreaded all along. Anyway, after meeting with the oncologist Monday, Dad decided to give the chemo a go. He had his first treatment that day. My Dad is extremely weak and has lost approximently 70lbs in the past three months. Three years ago he had a double knee replacement and had numerous complications including a staph infection that required a repeat replacement of one knee and a life time of antibiotics. He spent about 9 months in and out of the hospital that year. He has not been pain free since then. The oncologist did change his pain meds and he has had two good nights of sleep which has helped both him and my mom. We are a strong, close family and at this time are just sad. You and your dad are in my prayers.
