that I may not have much to offer since our stories are different, but I can tell you that it took me a long time (over a year) to really put much weight back on. I am 5'7' and weighed 138 when I went in for the whipple and left the hospital weighing 104. It was a battle for me to figure out what I could eat and what didn't work for me. (I also take 9 Creon 20 enzymes daily due to removal of most of my pancreas). What I have found to be true for me . . . I eat a low fat diet, stay away from cream/butter sauces, etc. (not lactose intolerant, but careful about what dairy I do eat). I stayed away from red meat for many years (I love burgers and steaks), and now only eat them on occasion. Bottom line is I have a very sensitive stomach and intestinal tract and I eat frequently small amounts and rarely have a really large meal. I snack frequently on low fat stuff . . . hope this helps a little. You've had your share of issues with this and the breast cancer. I have had three breast surgeries for lumps, all of which ended up being benign, but I went in for the incisional biopsies to play it safe. You will remain in my prayers and if there's anytime you want to communicate, my personal email address is: cherylynzeeb @yahoo.com - I look at that frequently. Keep your head up and remember that miracles really do happen. Cheri
