Hi Forest, I had the distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy in 2003 for a rare slow growing but malignant tumor. What was you diagnosis? I wanted Hopkins but my insurance denied it after allowing me to fly down there for counceltation. I ended up with hopkin's surgeon closer to my ome so it all worked out. If you can go to JH I highly recommend them. I saw Dr. Yeo but he has left for Jefferson in PA. Dr. Cameron is an excellent surgeon and has done the most of any surgeon I believe.

The distal surgery isn't as involved as the whipple. Read my bio, top of the page. Under L, I'm Linda C. I was so afraid if this surgery I came close to not having it done. It would have been a big mistake. Feel free to email me. Also we have a distal group if you would like to be added to our little but growing froup email me with a little history and I'll introduce you. You're going to be alright.

Love, Linda
