Hi all, I had a whipple Oct. 2004 after 4 months of chemo. Since I have had more chemo & currently am on xeloda & radiation till Aug. 14. My ca-19-9 was 4600 at diagnonis & 250 just befoe surgery. Since surgery it has been between 15 & 35, then went to 150 & now 250 last week. The docs say it could be activity caused by the radiation or reoccurence of the cancer. Pet scan shows activity around the surgery area only. I start on oxaliplatin tommorow for 2 weeks. I read about the side effects but would like some info from direct sources. This board sees to have many cocerned, loving & informative folks! Thanks for your comments. Bill G.
