The side note of sibling harmony actually is consolation to me. I am quite furious right now at my only sibling, my slightly younger brother, who came to see Mom once shortly after her diagnosis, was breaking a promise to see her again at Thanksgiving till I BOUGHT HIS TICKET AND FORCED HIM, then has broken various promises to come again in the past few months -- but seems to be FINALLY coming up next week, and not a moment too soon. He has been pretty close to useless during this entire time -- wouldn't even return panicky voice-mail messages during crises; I had to get people to go bodily track him down! -- except for a few sporadic phone calls to Mom, and I don't care except for the fact it breaks HER heart. At least (I hope!) he'll be here in time to say goodbye...........
