Know what you mean; even when you know what's going on, it's still so unbelievable. I knew that my Dad had pc with liver mets, and I knew that he was going to die, but when he did, I was very surprised like I'de expected a miracle to happen. Indeed, death IS a part of life, but when it hits someone you're close too, it doesn't feel that way. My thoughts are with you; I wish you and your Mom much strentgh. Enjoy her company while you can.
