changing to building up tolerance part. It seems that she has not built a tolerance, so you could theoretically switch back if wanted. The Gemzar is draining on the body over a period of time (although I don't know if I would say your mom has been on it tooooo long, but apparently, the doc feels the platelet issue is important enough). Maybe he just wants to give her a break? That's what has gone on with my mom, I cannot say whether or not I feel it's a good idea. She is wiped out with fatigue and probably couldn't have continued with the gemzar that way. Whatever, say Hooray for continued good news for your mom!!! C
