This upcoming week should be very interesting. I'm a practicing Catholic (most times). Wednesday, May 4th, is the Feast of St. Perregrine, the Patron Saint of Cancer Patients. My church has a special Mass on that night for cancer patients, living and deceased, and their families. Each patient attending receives an annointing. Charlie, who is a 'C and E' Catholic, attended last year's Mass, the night before his surgery. I really do attribute the success of his surgery to the power of prayer, and that annointing.

Thursday, his anniversary, is a Holy Day of Obligation, and I intend to drag him to Mass. Charlie attending Mass two nights in a row will be a sight to behold! (I'd love to bring along a video camera for this!) After that we will probably go out to dinner with the family. Then I would imagine he will want to run to his weekly card game. I also intend to send a card and note to the asst. surgeon who told me when asked that my husband wouldn't have more than one year to live. I have no idea if, or when his cancer will again rear its' ugly head. I'll deal with that another time. But right now my husband is truly a survivor, living his life, and enjoying every minute of it. I will never give up hope.

Love, Pat
