Peter's comments below about a personal 9/11 are very true. We want to know when things will get back to 'normal'. The problem is, even with the best possible outcome, there is no going back to normal. There is a new 'normal' that we each have to come to grips with and we are forever changed by the events that we have been through.

Unfortunately, this is the really hard part that no one tells you about before hand. How to find that new normal and make it work for you in a way that still allows you to be happy and satisfied with your life. Maybe this is the role that religion and our belief system plays in helping us make sense of the world when our previous sense has been distrupted and changed. I know that I am more patient about some things now than I was before. Also true is that some things now are a waste of my time since time is much more valuable now than I thought it was before.

Just take each step one at a time and later you can look back and be amazed at the changes we have been through.
