Kimberly, I saw your post a few pages back and thought my response would be lost if I post there. I suffered with pancreatitis/chronic pancreatitis for many years (May 1982 until June 2003). After five long years (June 1998 until March 2003) of bile duct and pancreatic duct stenting, my GI doctor recommended surgery. I orginally went in to have Puestow Procedure done in March 2003, but they found an undigagnosed tumor. 90 days later I had the Whipple. By the sounds of it, your mother has become very very weak from the weight loss. Have they explained to her or you why she is losing the weight? I would think that her gastroenterologist would be able to provide some answers and some recommendations on her weight loss. I check this site daily, so if you have any specific question that I think I can help with, I will answer, but push for some answers from her doctors.
