Pancreas Cancer Web
I am a female who is 42 years old. I started having upper abdominal pain 3
years ago.( pancreatitis attacks) It took numerous tests to discover that I
had a cyst on my pancreas.Doctors thought it was a marker of the attacks, but
thought my gallbladder was causing them. Removal of gallbaldder did not
resolve pain. I lost 45 pounds as food seemed to trigger these attacks.
Underwent second surgery June 2004
pancreatic cancer diagnosed after biopsy performed following surgery. Surgeon
said it was really' nasty.'
Surgery performed: Distal pancreatectomy,partial gastrectomy,splenectomy
My husband is a self employed contractor who was flexible enough top take
real; good care of me during the 7 month recovery. I am a full time working
Mom of two boys, 5 and 8
No chemo recommended following surgery
Severe symptoms appeared 2 years before surgery.
Considered'cured' by Surgeon. Recovery took 7 months, fatigue still somewhat
of an issue.Still have some concerns over high white cell count, itchiness of
the skin( face , neck, arms) and 'low blood sugar' feelings.Would love to
read posts from others having had similar experiece.
