Dad had back pain after certain procedures in the GI area. It is called
referred pain. There are nerves in the muscles in the abdominal area that
lead to the back. Any disturbance can affect the back. Dad also had back
pain and even shoulder pain when he had a drain put in for a liver abscess.
He didn't require any future stents after the initial one put in. It was
removed during the whipple surgery two weeks later. Do mention it to the
doctor. Hope your Aunt is more comfortable soon. Take care......Mary
