Yes, there is hope, but you must be aggressive. Keep your options open. If
your brother can qualify for a clinical trial, by all means keep this option
open. Clinical trials make it possible for pancreatic cancer patients to get
experimental drugs that are not yet available to the public. Look at
www.clinicaltrials.gov. Take a look at http://www.cancer.gov/clinicaltrials.
I know a woman who had Stage IV breast cancer at the time of diagnosis, but
she lasted 15 years because she kept taking part in clinical trials. After
the latest greatest drug stopped working, she'd sign up for another clinical
trial and get the next new drug.
So be aggressive and fight hard. I'm rooting for you.
