Caution, not everyone gets sick on chemo - there are success stories here. However, there are horror stories too. My mother has chosen not to undergo chemotherapy or radiation. She is taking some supplements, not even anything as radical as you mention, under the guidance of a naturopathic doctor who's part of a local cancer-treatment practice. I would say it's way too early to say whether it will affect her survival time. However, she now has survived nearly 3 months since diagnosis with inoperable stage IV, extensive liver mets, and her weight loss stopped (hopefully it's still stopped, but she won't be weighed again till a doctor checkup next week). For her, it's worth it. She has a very good quality of life - pain is her only symptom. She MIGHT well have good quality of life on chemo too, but there's no guarantees. I'd advise seeking out a naturopath, if they're licensed in your state, to work COMPLEMENTARILY if possible with an M.D. My mother also drops in to see an oncologist at her HMO -- we were going to keep the naturopath a secret from him, but the N.D. wrote the M.D. a letter advising him of the treatment, and the oncologist told us, yeah, sure, whatever, that's great, who knows what might work?...............t.r., daughter of Judi, 61, dx 10/6/98 inoperable
