Hi Michele,

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. My Father developed a leak at one of the suture sites. Because nothing was done he developed Peritonitis and died 4 days later. The Dr's and nurses just watched him get worse each day and did nothing. Had they known that a leak can be a common complication from the Whipple they would have been on top of things and gone in to resuture and administer antibiotics. However the only one who was really familiar with the WHipple was my Dad's surgeon and he had gone out of town on vacation. It is a tragedy and I will never get over it. I don't want anyone else to have to experience this. Please know I am sending prayers your way for a healthy recovery for your Mom.
