Hospice rules are different state to state, but giving IV fluids to my knowledge is just not done by hospice. I'm so sorry, we as loved ones often want to try IV etc. but the book final gifts says when a person is actively dying there is no need for the body to have fluids. I know reading the book is one thing but when it comes to your loved one it is all different. I stood over dad and mama dropping drops of water into their mouths with the tip end of a straw until they could no longer swallow. Do phone hospice and ask. Hugs Lillie
