If you are unable to go with your parents to the doctor's appts., do they have a recorder which they could utilize at the visits? We found that very helpful when dealing with all my Mom's appts. Even though I was there the majority of the time, emotions seem to erase the conversation. Also, some doctors are hesitent talking to 'family members' via the phone. Ask your parents to write a note of permission for the health care providers to discuss his case with you. Make a couple of copies as I found that a lot of the times if my mom was hospitalized, the floor nurses did not release info. My mother went 2 years with no growth. The term 'remission' was never used. good Luck-keep posting. SA
