My wife also had servre itching. It got worse and worse that she would
scratch until her legs or ankles would bleed. It was found to be the begining
of jauntice, due to blocked bile duct. Through an ERCP a blockage was
discovered, stints didn't help and a PRT was performed to check the liver for
blockage. The tumor was discovered and the doctor used a temporary stint and
a cathiter to drain the bile. This releaved the itching and yellow jauntice
with a few days. She then had major surgery for the tumor removal and
rouin-x-y procedure. See posts for Aug, Sept 2003 by MIKE.
Have someone clear the blockage as soon as possible, the itching is beasuse
the bile is backing up and poisoning the body.
