Hi Karen

I have been reading you messages and replies from a couple of days ago. I also live in England (Kent) and you are one of the only other people I have seen on this board who doesn't live ion the USA My mum has BDC (age 72). I don't know if this helps but when mum was diagnosed in August 2002 the Dr's said that they didn't think she would last another 3 to 6 months. Well its now been 18 months!! and mum is still with us and although she doesn't do as much as she used to her quality of life is probaby better now than it has been for years. This is because the dr's took so long to find the BDC (it's so tricky to find) that she was very poorly by August 2002 (jaundice, itching weight loss etc). She has had permenant metal stents in place for approx 7 months now (plastic ones kept being squeezed shut by tumor) and fingers crossed she'll carry on as she is for as long as possible. Anyway I hope this helps. Take care

Maria
