Sorry to hear about your wife in the hospital. Normally, when dad was on IV antibiotics, he was on them for a while. Not a quick fix and the source of the bacteria should be located. Do you know if they did a blood culture to figure out which bacteria are causing the problems? It can take up to 72 hours to culture out and then the antibiotic can be changed to something more specific to fight the bacteria (infection) better. I do hope she feels better soon.

Being Valentine's Day, take your wife something special to the hospital if she will be there for a while. The dinner dance with your daughter will be special. Take pictures to share with your wife later. Take care, Mary
