When Joe needed his stent replaced, he was still eating up until the procedure. After the new stent went in, he ate within a few hours and his appetite continued to build as his jaundice/bilirubin dropped. Perhaps, since they are already saying that a 'surgery for rerouting' needs to be done, this eating problem is NOT stent-related?

I am not familiar with the next procedure that they plan... though many here do talk about different GI surgeries with PC. What is the 're-routing' exactly? Will they be putting in an external tube? What's its purpose and why the wait?
