AJ'S FRIEND
We heard the news Christmas Eve, that my son's friend has pancreatic cancer.
He is only 31. He went to Australia for a month and just before the trip, he
thought he had a 'bug' When he came back, he had lost so much weight, and was
running to the loo and vomiting.
I thought he had a yellow cast to his skin, and wondered if it could be gall
bladder problems. He went for tests, with one moron doctor, after a negative
scan, telling him it was 'all in his head'
It has spread to the lymph nodes, but he has had two chemos so far. He does
not want to talk about it, so this is all we know. My son spends time with
him, every opportunity he has. I do know he is going to Boston, 20 January,
(dont know which hospital, don't like to ask)for more tests. Is there any
hope, if it has spread? Is the Whipple procedure a viable option or not? From
the research I have done, this seems a very young age, and not in the 'stats'
I have read. Is there no hope?
Anyone else out there in a similar situation? Any info would be greatly
appreciated.
