When our loved ones lose weight so rapidly, it causes much worry. Worry in the family and worry in the patient. It got to the point that I wouldn't let my husband weight himself because it would depress him so. What we tried were mlik shakes of every description. I used the ice cream with the most calories and then would add anything I could to make them even higher in calories. I added whole milk or half in half, bananas, strawberries or peanut butter for flavor. Sometimes I would add a high protien powder from the health food store, but I wouldn't use this full strength because too much protien, I read, is hard on the liver. Goals are important and the mind is a powerful resource. I hope your mother makes her goal. Denise W.
