I just found this webpage and am trying to get as much info as possible ASAP. My husband, age 54, had the whipple in July. The doctor was able to remove the tumor which was about 5cm. he said that the margins were free of cancer. Four of the 17 lymph nodes had cancer. Jim finished radiation and 5FU treatment last week. Now his oncologist says there is nothing else to do but wait and see. He said Gemzar hasn't bee shown to provide any additional benefit over the 5FU and radiation treatment Jim has just completed. I don't want to overlook any possible treatment so I'm asking for additional information that you may have on Gemzar and RFS2000.yJim is getting his strength back and appears to be doing pretty well. The wait and see approach scares me.
