Well, I was prepared for the worst when we met with Dr. Yeo, the pancreatic surgeon. He was wonderful, I have to say, but brought us bad news. My mom's cancer is stage 4, inoperable and has metastisized to the liver. It is a tad unusual in that the tumor is not at the head of the pancreas, but rather 1/2 way up. No duct intervention. No surgical cure. No cure. So, Board, what should we do? They gave her the fentynol patch and morphine for breakthru pain. What should my mom, age 62, do? chemo? clinical studies, what? Any advice, input.
