It sounds to me like she has accepted it also. Of course, she's going to choke up planning and thinking about her own death, funeral, etc. You probably will even more as the days go on. Listen to her wishes and go along with her plans. I would like to be honest with you about our situation. Mom knew from the minute her whipple failed. It didn't mean she didn't fight, because she fought it with everything she had in her. I mean right until the day before she died, too. She didn't start her planning until the month before she passed. She received a great honor from the Eastern Stars in June and we knew that once she got it, that was what she lived for. She contacted our old minister from so many years ago and went over with her what she wanted said, what music she wanted played. She wanted that service to mean something to all of us, and coming from her heart. Then, she contacted her local minister and told him that she invited our old minister and that she wanted the service co-done. She let him know where some of the music she wanted played was, and things she wanted brought to the service. The plots were already purchased. My Dad and sister had planned to see the funeral director (ended up being the day after she passed). It was easy to pick out announcements, casket, flowers, etc and took a lot off of us. We honored Mom's wishes. It was definitely a celebration of life and her telling us it was time to move on, never forget her, but learn to live again. Sending you thoughts and prayers. I do know how difficult this time is.
