Karin, Hi your story sounds so familiar. My Mum has pc and up until my Dad had a heart attack 5 weeks ago, he was caring for her at their home. They are now both living with me. Mum is very poorly too. She has had her belly drained once ( 17.5 litres they took) but it is now swelling again (just 2 weeks later). It did give her a little repreive but she seemed to go down hill after the draining ( probably just coincidence). She's now bedridden, sleeps alot and has a syringe driver fixed up with drugs to stop the vomitting. We haven't had too much of the confusion yet, but I guess that will come.We have a district nurse come in daily and the macmillan nurses have been in a couple of times. I hope that you are taking all the help that you can get. I know what you mean about well wishers, I've started to say that she's not up to visitors now but the phone doesn't stop ringing - as if I haven't got enough to do without having to answer the phone and say the same thing over and over again! My thoughts are with you. Take care of you too. Paula.
