hi Glen. I might have missed a post about the dinner dance and I would love to know more. My mother had a 'Celebration of Life' party and she woke up that morning feeling horrible. I called her oncologist and asked how my mom could have the energy for her party and enjoy the day. I begged him to tell me what drug she could take that could make sure she could dance, laugh, enjoy everyone when she was feeling incapable of sitting up that day. He told me to drive to his office for a prescription for Ritalin. He told me it would work in 45 minutes. I gave my mom the Ritalin and my sisters and I watched my mom as the musicians began to arrive and set up. At 40 minutes, my mom sat up and said, 'Here I go!' She did dance at the party, and had a wonderful day. I'm not sure she slept well that night as Ritalin stimulates, but it's a tip for that party you have coming up. Thank heavens we have you here Glen. I am so glad to have met you and find myself collecting more and more of your posts off my printer as you offer so much sensible, practical help about this illness. And you offer your advice with humor, compassion, dignity, and honesty. Claudia
