Does anyone out there have any experience with a patient taking chemo and having a hair permanent. My m-i-l would like to have a perm but she was told it wouldn't take because of the chemo. She has only had 1 treatment so far and is scheduled for the 2nd tomorrow. I thought maybe if she has a perm before she has too many treatments it might work. Thanks for any info. Also I would like to express my sentiments that others have before me. If something doesn't feel right, let the drs know right away!!! Don't wait until your next appt. M-i-l was consipated, couldn't eat, felt drained of energy and just lousy. She was going to wait until next treatment to let dr know. My s-i-l contacted the hospital on her own and was told to get m-i-l to evergency right now!!! She had an infection in her bowel. They gave her an antibiotic and the difference it made was truly amazing. From Monday to Tuesday she was a whole new person. Even did the dusting in her home.FYI.
