I read that a side effect of pepcid can be a rash. I looked up about the swelling and someone wrote in on January 28th (Tony?) that protein injections helped. With one foot more swollen than the other, it does sound as though something still might be going on with the blood clots and that would mean to resist the temptation to rub his feet. I noticed one woman brought down the swelling by putting her feet INCREDIBLY high -- higher than just above the heart, so maybe that's the key, not just lifted up a bit but trying for as high as can possibly be comfortable for Willie. I also read some people (Lillie's father I think was one) had success with Lasix and aldactone. What I noticed in reading was the combination of the rash WITH the swelling is very unusual. I read mainly of swelling in feet but not the rash. The swelling appears to come from problems with the liver...Well, the other thing I read about was that someone had a dermatologist wrap calamine bandages as well as compression bandages -- this was someone who did have swelling AND rash -- and this combination was helpful. Sorry I'm just throwing a lot at you but I thought if you're talking to the doctor you could go over these ideas. Claudia
