Well it's been a while since I have written. I have been anxiously awaiting my Grandma's follow-up visit with her surgeon. She had the whipple about 5 weeks ago. She saw the surgeon on Friday. He said she is healing ok, but she must eat and drink. She has been eating and drinking very little. She says everything has a metallic taste. (Can anyone relate to this? How can she get rid of it?) She bullied him into removing the feeding tube, my mom said she was very fiesty and did not take no for an answer. She is down to 97lbs and that is with 1500 calories a day from the tube. I hope she will eat. He left the other drainage in for the pancreas, said it is draining green and wants to give it two more weeks. He said the path report was a TNM Stage 2-3 and that there was cancer in 3 nodes. I'm not sure what that means, he wants her to see an oncologist. She does not want chemo and is very upset. Mom made the appointment in case she changes her mind, it's in October. He said she is still to sick for chemo right now. Does anyone know what this cancer staging means and would going without chemo make the whole surgery useless? She is just so depressed and distant, no one knows what to say to her. She has to make her own decisions, but she should be informed. If anyone knows of anything that she do to get rid of this bad taste in her mouth please let me know?

Also, my 53 y/o neighbor, 2 kids at home 9 and 11 was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, 6 months given. Please send a prayer out for Doug and his family. They are people of great faith and would appreciate the prayers. Thanks in advance for listening and your help. Wendy
