Dan came to the ER and week and a half ago with chest pain - really sharp pains. It turned out that it was ascites. His stomach was so distended and tight as a drum. They drew off about a liter of fluid. The fluid just pushes everything up. It may have to be done again at some later date. Doc says sometimes it will build back up and sometimes it won't. I guess again, it depends upon the individual.
