Yes, and it's normal. I went through the same thing you're going through. All you can do is live your life as normal as possible, but make an effort to be there, too. I was in college and wanted to drop out, I was told no, you finish your degree. I offered to come up for the summer, no spend the time with the kids (I have five). I started making more frequent trips as the end grew near and the more phone calls I received from Mom. We made the times we were there as good of quality time that we possibly could. WE even pulled out old photo reels from the 60-70 and had a good laugh all together. Just make sure that you have said all you need to say so that you will have no regrets or guilt in the end. Amazingly enough, on some of the time my parents were alone, they were doing some talking about the future. Mom planned her funeral. BTW, my Mom's name was Kay, also.
