Thank you for your reply. Dad used to work on earthmoving equipment and with jack hammers and explosives, so he was pretty deaf before. We noticed that what hearing he had is diminishing and he is only getting bits and pieces. To think about it, he is probably having trouble lip reading with his sight not being good after his stroke. He never relied on his hearing but he did lip read. I'll have to mention that to Mum. Don't think anyone probably realized this. But his hearing has deteriorated too, as he cannot hear on the phone.
